Give to San Diego Fire Relief Efforts
The wildfires in San Diego have wreaked havoc in the lives of thousands of residents. Although the worst is behind us, the reality is that firefighting and community recovery efforts promise to continue for some time.
California Coast Credit Union is actively supporting and promoting several fund-raising initiatives including the American Red Cross and CUAid, an effort of the California Credit Union League.
- The American Red Cross established 11 shelters for housing, feeding, and counseling evacuees during the peak of the disaster and is now directing its assistance to the training of 3,000 volunteers to handle the coming weeks of ongoing recovery. CO-OP Financial Services has donated $25,000 to the Red Cross Southern California Fire Relief Fund. Contributions to the American Red Cross can be made by contacting your local chapter, calling 800.RED.CROSS (1.800.733.2767), or going online to www.redcross.org.
- CUAid is the credit union system's centralized national disaster relief fundraising mechanism borne out of the National Credit Union Foundation's firsthand experience assisting credit unions, their staff, volunteers, and members in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Contributions are coming in from a number of credit union leagues and credit unions across the nation. Contributions to CUAid can be made at: www.cuaid.coop/california.
Thank you for your help in assisting those affected by the wildfires in San Diego to rebuild their homes and their lives. Together we can make a difference for our community.
